Tucker Co. Appoints General Counsel

Cherry Hill, NJ (March 23, 2007) – Jeffrey Tucker, CEO of Tucker Company, a logistics company based in Cherry Hill, N.J., has announced the appointment of Darin A. Day as general counsel. In addition to overseeing legal matters for the company, Day directs the Risk Management department which includes responsibility for carrier qualification and compliance.

Before joining Tucker, Day was a large-firm litigator in Boston with a practice focusing on business disputes, employment law and government investigations. He was educated at the University of Chicago Law School and Michigan State University.

Previously, Day was a consultant working with several foundations and nonprofit organizations to promote and support volunteerism and community service among high school and college students. Among other organizations, he worked closely with the Points of Light Foundation, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and the Office of the Michigan Governor.

Between college and law school, Day co-founded and was Executive Director of HERO, a nonprofit Michigan corporation that creates and supports one-on-one partnerships between homeless adults and volunteer mentors, connecting participants with the community’s mainstream and with vital housing, education and employment resources.

Day is active in pro-bono work and currently volunteers with Big Brothers/Big Sisters and sits on the Board of Directors of the Trinity Center for Urban Life in Philadelphia.
