Tucker’s 10th Annual Golf Outing Benefitting Alzheimer’s Association Tops $50,000

Customers, friends, staff and vendors joined Tucker at Riverton Country Club in Riverton, NJ, for our 10th anniversary golf outing. This year we raised $9,300, which brought our accumulated donations to $50,000!

During this recession, charities need donations more than ever. We are grateful to everyone who participated in this event. One memorable instance was when Jeff Tucker asked everyone at dinner to raise your hand if you have a loved one with Alzheimer’s. Almost everyone raised a hand.

The good news is researchers are making progress against this terrible disease. A recent research report indicated that Americans born this year have a “very good” chance of seeing their 100th birthday. With the work of research and the Alzheimer’s Association, hopefully we will be lucky enough to enjoy all those years in dignity.

Alzheimer’s Disease is a progressive and fatal disease of the brain. A recent study suggested that 1 of 8 baby boomers will develop the disease. For married couples, that could mean 1 in 4 marriages may be affected. The Alzheimer’s Association is the largest contributor to research and provides support groups to families with individuals suffering from the disease. For more info, go to their website, www.alz.org.
